Nebo Project Engineers (Vacuum Truck Supplies – Melbourne, Victoria, Australia)
Nebo Project Engineers required design verification of portable vacuum units for Vacuum Truck Supplies. Avesta Consulting verified design compliance of the portable vacuum unit shell, hatches/nozzles and supports in accordance with standards AS 1210 and AS 4100 to enable registration of the designs with WorkSafe Victoria (Registration/Notification of Plant Design).
What we did:
- Performed linear structural FEA of portable vacuum units in accordance with standards AS 1210 and AS 4100 considering stress-based strength design criteria with combined permanent, internal and external pressure, wind and seismic loads.
- Performed linear buckling FEA to confirm adequate minimum buckling safety factor.
Outcome:
Avesta Consulting verified structural integrity of the portable vacuum unit designs in accordance with standards AS 1210 and AS 4100 and provided review and sign-off of WorkSafe Victoria Registration and Notification of Plant Design form as the Design Verifier.
