We are searching for a full time Engineering Consultant to join our team and report directly to our Principal Engineer.
This is a key role within the engineering team, with training and development for an engineer looking to broaden their knowledge and experience level, engage in analysis driven design and manage projects.
Duties:
- Provide project related research and literature reviews.
- Perform 3D CAD modelling.
- Complete engineering calculations and assessments to design standards.
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamic (CFD) simulations to develop, verify and optimise designs.
- Apply QA checking procedures.
- Communicate project outcomes to team members and clients.
Attributes:
- Around 2-4 years relevant experience is desirable but not essential.
- Degree in mechanical or structural engineering (or similar).
- Previous experience within an engineering consulting or design environment is desirable.
- Able to work independently with supervision as required.
- Able to work within a project team based environment.
- Open minded and progressive thinker.
Technical skills:
- 3D CAD modelling using Rhinoceros, Inventor, SolidWorks or similar.
- FEA using ANSYS Mechanical, Strand7 or similar.
- Experience with CFD analysis (e.g. ANSYS CFD, OpenFOAM) desirable but not essential.
