Stove Pressure Vessel DCD Over Plating Repair Analysis

BlueScope Steel required stress analysis and fatigue assessment of over plating repairs for the 5BF stove pressure vessel DCD. Over plating repairs were required for the lower vertical and conical shell segments due to shell corrosion/erosion and shell cutouts representing localised buckled shell panels. Stress analysis and fatigue assessment was required to verify structural integrity of the over plating repairs in accordance with standard AS 1210 considering worst case reduced shell thickness applying permanent, internal pressure and thermal loads.
